Anne Burrell
Anne W. Burrell has been a chef, television personality in the United States and an instructor at Institute of Culinary Education. She is the host of the Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef as well as co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, a Food Network presenter with her distinctive spikey blonde hair and exuberant personality, shares easy methods to master and removes intimidation of restaurants dishes in her series Secrets of a Restaurant. Chef Burrell has also worked at many of the best eateries located in New York, studied the culinary landscape and traditions of Italy and competed on Food Network's Iron Chef America. Burrell is a native of the Upstate and grew up living in New York State's Upstate, began to develop a passion for cooking. She pursued her love of food and restaurant by enroling in The Culinary Institute of America following her graduation in English and Communication from Canisius College, Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was where I had the most fun time of my life. The Culinary Institute of America was an excellent place to study. Following graduation, Burrell spent one year studying at the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners and working in Umbria's La Taverna del Lupo as well as Tuscany's La Bottega del 30, an Michelin-starred restaurant. The chef gained an appreciation of Italian culture and cuisine while in Italy, which has influenced the way she cooks. Burrell has been a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that aims to make a difference in children's lives who are facing challenges. Burrell is also an Juvenile Research Foundation Celebrity ambassador which promotes awareness of juvenile diabetes. Burrell travels extensively across the nation in her capacity as both a mentor and public speaker in which she speaks about her career and love of cooking. Anne often has mentioned throughout her professional career she's grateful to be able share with others what is truly important to her.
