Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine has a unique style that combines R&B with gospel, soul music and R&B. The singer has worked everywhere from Broadway to the Democratic National Convention to the European scene of clubs and festivals. Sunshine's title is Denise White. Although she lives in Atlanta, she originates out of Chester Pennsylvania where she began the musical path by singing and playing the piano in churches. After graduation from Spellman College, Atlanta she began her musical journey on Atlanta's R&B culture. The Fighting Temptations The first single to feature her vocals was Stalk You which was a house 12-inch released only in Japan; it was later remixed by numerous producers and is the mainstay of her live sets. She also contributed to The Fighting Temptations soundtrack. The year 2005 saw Tyler Perry hired her as the principal keyboardist on his stage show Meet the Browns. In 2007, Grammy and Tony award-winning singer Jennifer Holliday sought her out to serve as the director of the choir for the stage production of Dreamgirls during the National Black Arts Festival in Atlanta. Sunshine was brought to the attention of all of the country during daily performances of four at the 2008 Democratic National Convention. Sunshine was later requested to sing with President Barack Obama at his inauguration.
